Frequently Asked Questions
If your question isn't here, please get in touch and we'll be happy to help.
How should I prepare for my first treatment?
Have a room with open space available for the therapist to set up the massage couch.
Wear comfortable shorts.
Provide your own towel, both at home and if you visit us is clinic.
Please be prepared to pay by card/contactless/apple or google pay.
If you're female, we advise to wear a standard (not sports) style bra to be unclipped if you are preparing for the Massage therapist to be treating your back, otherwise, we are happy to let you remove a sports bra/tee shirt in private before treating you.
Wear shorts, or trousers you are happy to remove - however we never allow all clothes to be fully removed at any point during your treatment session.

What should I expect from my first session?
The Massage Therapist will set up the massage couch in your choice of room - please note bed rooms are not permitted due to professionalism and therapist safety.
A client record form will be filled out for you, regarding your contact details, the issues you are encountering and a treatment plan specific to you.
The massage will then begin on the couch, working through techniques with you.

Do I have to be involved in sport to have a treatment?
Not at all, "sport" is the style of massage - it's just a name meaning the massage will be focussed on muscle based issues as opposed to soft and sweet/relaxation. Sports Massage is deep tissue, focussing on overcoming problems, repairing and recovering tired, knotted and over-used muscle.
Do you follow COVID-19 Rules and Precautions?
Yes.
After Flex Services only run when the government permits us to do so.
We clean all equipment thoroughly after every client, continuously use hand sanitiser and social distance where possible.

Hands. Face. Space.
Is sports and deep tissue massage painful?
Sports Massage can cause discomfort, and may leave a muscle or knot feeling tender and bruised as it is worked on with pressure to relax it and get it back to functioning and a pain-free state. The Therapist will never aim to put you in unbearable or inappropriate pain, and will consistently communicate with you to use a pressure that you are comfortable with.
You are also responsible for communicating with your massage therapist during your treatment to ensure the pressure you are recieving is adequate and comfortable for you.
Is After Flex an insured massage therapy service?
Yes, our Massage Therapist is insured by Balens LTD.
Where is After Flex located?
After Flex is a mobile massage company based in Norfolk, UK and our clinic is located at Inspire Personal Training Studio, Sprowston.
